Rubbish Christmas 2010 – Must Have Christmas Tree

31 October 2010 by Tim 11 Comments

It is rare to find an item which is thoroughly awful in concept, tacky in execution and utterly ugly.

But then, there is always The Range.

This year, they are offering a 170cm Cascading Snow Tree – Black, a snip at £99.99.

This ghastly piece of festive tat awaits you at your local store, or if you prefer, for purchase online.

Get that Winter Wonderland feeling in the warmth and comfort of your own home with the Cascading Snow Tree. Artificial snow balls cascade from the top of the tree giving a life-like snowing effect. Comes with a special base to catch and circulate the balls through the tree so you don’t have to worry about any mess.

My thanks go To the Manor Born for drawing this vile monstrosity to my attention.

Your pic doesn’t really show the full extent as looks diddy as if a tabletop tree. It is huge, probably almost as wide as it is high. Extraordinary use of world resources :-(.

Does one normally have a breeze indoors? I noticed the directions that stated you couldn’t have it anywhere breezy. ;P
Also, I have seen a lovely black feathered wreath which would go wonderfully with this tree. ;P

Andrea, One normally has a breeze in our house. We have a seven year old who missed part two of the course “Opening and Closing Doors”.
I am kind of hoping you mean “go”, as in “go up in flames on a bonfire”.

I have purchased this tree as my children saw it in the range and fell in love with it! I have to disagree that this ugly and tacky! It is absolutely wonderful and the kids love it! Don’t you people have anything better to do after all it’s about personal taste. I’m sure there are things you like that I would think tacky and ugly!

We purchased this tree from the range and paid £99.99 , We fell in love it, and we thought the grand children would love it too, I did feel it was a bit expensive for a tree, But i thought at that price it would be good quality. We got it home in November, so didnt put it up straight away, anyway couldnt wait so back end of November decided we would put it up, Unpacked everything, then noticed a big crack on the base of the tree, disapointed we packed it all back up and returned it to the grange and exchanged it for another one.We put it up and yes it was lovely to watch, even tho i wasnt completely happy with the quality of workmanship, while putting baubles on tree bits of branches falling off, After a week i noticed it was leaning a bit and snow was falling over the carpet, so put my hand near base inside brolli to see what problem was, The bracket had snapped, Im so disapointed, so packed it all back up again, I cant believe they make a tree like this and use poor quality materials.Am going to return it a demand a refund. Very disapointed!

Good for you. If it makes you and your family happy that is really all that counts.

I have just seen this tree and think it is really beautiful. It makes you smile. That to me is precious. Needless to say I have ordered it.
