Suzi Quattro and The Veiled Lady

15 June 2008 by Tim 1 Comment

Had a trip out with the small people this afternoon. We visited Bankfield Museum in Halifax. The museum has a Toy Gallery, Textiles Gallery and is home to the Museum of the Duke Of Wellington’s Regiment. Small people seemed happy, particularly when they found a Batmobile. I must say I found it rather unnerving to see toys I had owned and played with behind glass in a museum.

Frankly, while there was some fascinating stuff on display, it all seemed to be rather randomly laid out, which did detract from the experience.

The highlight for me was “The Veiled Lady” (late 19th century marble by Florentine sculpture) Niccolo Bazzanti. Stunning and merited rather better presentation. The Veiled Lady

Then there was the playground in the museum grounds, so it worked out quite a good afternoon.

And on the way home we listened to Radio 2. Suzi Quattro was on, so here is a picture of her too – any excuse will do (and no extra charge for the Fonz). 🙂 Suzi Quattro and Henry Winkler

Ooh, one of my fave places 😀 I lived across the road from it as a child.
