A “root-and-branch” review is planned into what is taught in English primary schools to allow more time for reading, writing and maths, Ed Balls has said. BBC

A bright idea came into Alice’s head. `Is that the reason so many tea-things are put out here?’ she asked.
`Yes, that’s it,’ said the Hatter with a sigh: `it’s always tea-time, and we’ve no time to wash the things between whiles.’
`Then you keep moving round, I suppose?’ said Alice.
`Exactly so,’ said the Hatter: `as the things get used up.’
`But what happens when you come to the beginning again?’ Alice ventured to ask.
`Suppose we change the subject,’ the March Hare interrupted, yawning.
LOL! Very appropriate 😉
Featuring Gordon Bean as The Mad Hatter, Edballs as The March Hare. 🙂
More time for reading, writing and maths. And arts:
“Every child in Britain will have the chance to experience the arts directly as part of their school routine, with five hours of cultural learning and activity every week, the government will pledge this week.” guardian
And apparently that is supposed to match what is available in sport, so that’s two hours a day spoken for. How many hours a day are they in school anyway?
