Catherine Who?

“Comedian Catherine Tate is to play Doctor Who’s new companion, reprising her role from the 2006 Christmas special, the BBC has announced.” (BBC)

Oh no, no, no. I found her deeply irritating in the Christmas Special. Mind you, I just find her generally irritating.

I liked Billie Piper very much, I thought she was an excellent companion.

I like Freema Agyeman, so it is good that she will be cropping up in Torchwood and I look forward to her return to Doctor Who – can’t really see how she is going to fit in alongside Catherine Tate though.

(Edit 2024: I was so wrong, I ended up loving Donna, one of the best companions of all time)

The plus side is that we get Martha back in Torchwood in January long before the next Who series screens.

Also it would be nice to see more of The Master (John Simm)(bet he’s not dead). Mrs Saxon (Alexandra Moen) was rather gorgeous.
