Collecting our small people this evening revealed that both are now damaged. Sadly, I suspect they are technically out of warranty.
Big managed to get a couple of rather nasty splinters in her finger at the weekend, had on the spot professional medical care and declined the offer of splinter removal. On Monday, she summoned the courage to have the larger one removed but is still suffering with the smaller one, which now appears to be nicely inaccessible. So she counts as walking wounded.
Tonight Small explained at considerable length how he had managed to graze both his knees this morning. Sadly, after the application of plasters and general patching up this evening, he somehow lost the ability to straighten his legs, so had to be carried up to bed. Jax is currently applying telephonic sticking plaster to her evening shift, I think. … … .. … Oh no she’s not, judging by the sound effects, Small needs additional maintenance.
So, all round, an Elastoplast kind of day.
At least he didn’t need to be taken to hospital like Grandad did yesterday (nothing too serious in the end, he’s still going on holiday tomorrow).
And the additional maintenance was very positive – although when Small works out that waking up needing the toilet is best resolved by going to the toilet rather than rocking in the bed and wailing, evenings will run much smoother 😀
I usually recommend amputation.
SB knows that she is best off getting splinters out herself!
Er, Michelle, that’s a fairly extreme treatment for toilet troubles.
We have that same trouble with DS3, he just cries in the night instead of getting up and if I don’t get up and get him to the loo quickly he gets completely hysterical and will be up for hours just wailing. If you find the answer let me know! 🙂
snap with the toilet wails and the splinters as R is sporting a lovely one she won’t let me touch.
