Not America for us. Canada now, there’s an option, or New Zealand. But with our current financial position it’ll have to stay as sunny Chesterfield for now!

Progress is a complicated thing…
Well of course it leaves begging, what wasn’t said. Ok, less people are living on $1 dollar a day and certainly there are mnay countries with increasing prosperity, but I for instance what about many of the countries in sub-Saharan Africa which have been ‘left behind’ in this development, and while many pollutants may be down, what about global wraming and CO2, which the US isn’t noted for it’s progress.

The source, of course is Fox News, who are scarcely impartial.
Without researching any of the "good news" my suspicion is that there is probably a grain of truth in all of these claims, but that the detail may well be open to other interpretations.

Hello all! I just like you to know that Radley Balko, while he is an occasional contributor for Fox News, is actually a libertarian and maintains a fascinating blog (my favorite blog, matter of fact) as http://www.theagitator.com
He also explicitly stated in the column that this is not good news from 2004 specifically (he has no input on the headlines), but gradual events which have a net result in the positive.
So, y’know, don’t be so dismissive just cause it originated from Fox News.
Hmm, reckon it’s just cleverly interpreted facts and figures myself… but as we’d quite like to go and live in America I’m prepared to believe it 🙂
