Well, five days, and now we have Jax back for two days, I expect she is going to spend most of it asleep though.

I must say, this has been quite a tough week, but I have really enjoyed it. High point was last night when Small (who was supposed to be in bed going to sleep) appeared at the head of the stairs and called for me. I was touched, I am clearly now a person.
We got down to two hours for Big to do her reading today, she managed five minutes in my office before becoming too exhausted to continue. Once again, when we got over the performance she seemed to enjoy it. In fact, she seemed to be enjoying it so much that I decided not to point out to her that she was only supposed to be doing half the book. So now she has done all the yellow Red Noses (I know).
We have had two very tired children – they are insisting on getting up when Jax does, and Small has been doing his throw himself at the floor act (must get him a Bob The Builder hat) and Big has been slightly more than usually whiney. To be fair, most of the day has been fun, and Small performed excellently for Kirstythenurserynurse this afternoon.

I have enjoyed it a lot. We’ve had little in the way of shouting and screaming and the rest of it has been pretty darn good. I don’t know if I would adjust well to doing it long term, but it is such a worthwhile way to spend time.
Nothing is long-term with children…it’s constant change. That’s part of what makes it so satisfying – and so bloody hard! LOL
